About Amelia Gonzales
Amelia Gonzales has been affiliated with Southwest Occasions since its inception in 2004, and has now taken over as general manager from its founder, Wendy Fisher. Wendy Fisher built the business from the ground up through her myriad of contacts, extensive experience and a passion for beautiful, elegant events.
Amelia is a Santa Fe native and understands the beauty, culture, and pure magic that the Southwest can be. Having worked in both Santa Fe and Taos at the prestigious and exclusive resorts of La Posada de Santa Fe and El Monte Sagrado, Amelia is a wealth of knowledge about the area. Her extensive training at these resorts and her work with Wendy in selecting the premier vendors to work with Southwest Occasions, gives her the unique ability to craft spectacular events.
“I just really love helping couples realize their vision for their wedding – it never really feels like work, and it gives me such satisfaction”, Amelia stated in a recent interview. “I’m good at listening, and with my knowledge of what is possible, I can sometimes suggest just the right vendor, idea, or location”.
While balancing work and personal life (Amelia is a wife and young mother), Amelia has a clear understanding of issues and desires so many young woman face. She is uniquely qualified to help work through all the difficulties of planning an event while juggling work and personal relationships.
